Let’s Get Small…
Most of us ride smaller Bikes and/or Motorcycles. So, we visited a place that made out machines more comfortable. Located in Oakdale NY, here on Long Island is a place referred to as “Midgetville”. The Area is contained by a Castle Wall for some reason. It was once part of the Vanderbilt Estate, like everything else around. It has been an Artist Colony and rumored to have been built for Chickens & Goats. The area was quoted by one of our members as “Creepy”. It was. The whole area is a time warp with abandoned old big buildings as part of the Dowling College complex. Afterwards we just explored the very cool oceanfront neighborhood and saw no Midgets, Goats or Chickens.

Long Island Maritime Museum…
After our exploration of “Midgetville” we headed further East to Sayville. Our destination was the Long Island Maritime Museum. Also at the site is a Navy Seals Museum. The signage and Parking for either facility is confusing and inadequate at best, but it is a magnificent place to visit. Sayville is very scenic and the views are great from this harbor. We didnt venture inside, the fees were kinda high for us because we spend all of our money on our rides.

The Tale Of 2 Swarms…
We had a successful double meet up on the last Sunday of The Month this time around. With a bunch of our members on Vacation and such, coordinating to meet up is two counties was though to be not easy at first. It was beyond easy and fun too. We first met as usual at Town Bagel in Plainview at 9. We left a little earlier at about 930 and headed east o the site of the second swarm. Instead of taking the direct route along the LIE, we took Vanderbilt/Motor Pkwy. We told you he owned everything. The curvy road is like a roller coaster with smooth pavement and little traffic. We arrived at Dunkin Donuts on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge just in time to meet up with our new Suffolk County members. Teamwork and riding together is how this club works and once again it worked for the best. The Sunday Swarm only happens on the last Sunday of the month and is intended to make it easier for our more eastern member to ride with us and not intended to replace our regular meet up in Plainview. The Club is growing and so are the Swarms!
